The Guelph Dance Emerging Artist Intensive is five days of in person or online workshops and classes from May 30th to June 3rd, 2022 9:30AM-4PM EST coinciding with the Guelph Dance festival. The intensive is designed to help provide emerging dance artists with the necessary tools and information to support your transition to a professional dance artist.
● Movement Workshops featuring various styles of dance to help broaden the participants knowledge of various dance genres as well as expand their technical skillset.
●Repertoire class in which the participants will be given the opportunity to work with French choreographer Laura Arend and perform in the Guelph Dance Festival.
● Information Sessions led by members of the dance community to provide practical information and resources to help propel the careers of emerging dance artists.

The Guelph Dance Emerging Artist Intensive is five days of workshops and master classes and repertoire sessions coinciding with the annual Guelph Dance Festival. The intensive is designed to help provide emerging dance artists with the necessary tools and information to support your transition to a professional dance artist.
Who can do the Emerging Artist Intensive?
Anyone! If you consider yourself an emerging artist and feel you would benefit from the workshops and classes being taught, then you are welcome! Whether you have just finished or are finishing a dance school program, returning to dance after a break, or simply would like to take the workshops provided, then we encourage you to reach out!
What does the Emerging Artist Intensive week look like?
The intensive week consists of three types of workshops:
● Movement Workshops featuring various styles of dance to help broaden the participants knowledge of various dance genres as well as expand their technical skillset.
● A Repertoire session in which the participants will be given the opportunity to work with a Guelph Dance Festival artist.
● Round Table Discussions led by members of the dance community to provide
practical information and resources to help propel the careers of emerging dance artists.
Following the Emerging Artist Intensive week is the annual Guelph Dance Festival in which participants will be given the opportunity to perform their work from the Repertoire Sessions.
Is the Emerging Artist Intensive part of the Guelph Dance Festival?
Yes. The Emerging Artist Intensive is the week leading up to the Guelph Dance Festival weekend. The intensive features primarily Guelph Dance Festival artists and includes a performance opportunity during the weekend of the Guelph Dance Festival.

The registration fee is $255.
