Due to many outstanding uncertainties around summer camps and indoor activities in the summer of 2021, Guelph Dance will not be offering the popular Arts Explosion Camps this season. We thank our camp families and campers for their understanding as we continue to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic.
Guelph Dance looks forward to the return of March Break and Summer Camps in 2022.
SUMMER ARTS EXPLOSION CAMP
Summer, 2022 :: River Run Centre, 35 Woolwich St., Guelph -Dance, music, Visual Art, Theatre and Mindfulness, Yoga and Story Creation taught by exceptional teaching artists. Different age groups each week as it is 2 cohorts per week due to COVID-19 restrictions. (ages groups below are a guide as it could be challenging to separate siblings)
PERFORMANCE FOCUS SUMMER CAMP – TBD
Summer, 2022 :: River Run Centre, 35 Woolwich St., Guelph – Performance Focus is a camp for our older campers. It is a multi-arts extravaganza incorporating dance, theatre, music, song, and set design and construction. Campers will create a contemporary and socially relevant production. Campers will be grouped by age and experience to work with our teaching artists on different aspects of the production. This week will culminate in a showing of the production at 4pm on the Friday afternoon of camp.
COUNSELLOR IN TRAINING PROGRAM
Summer, 2022 :: River Run Centre, 35 Woolwich St., Guelph -These are a fun-filled weeks of professional artist mentorship, leadership skill-building, and hands-on volunteering with young campers. A terrific opportunity for youth aged 13 (Gr 8) interested in gaining leadership experience in a camp and arts environment.
The CIT program aims to:
– instill, encourage, and foster healthy leadership skills
– encourage team work
– to educate youth about teaching the arts
– to build confidence
$255/week (sibling discount 5%)
$100/week CIT program
9:30-3:30 (scheduled arts activities)
8:30-9:30 (free and optional)
Additional post-camp care:
4:30-5:30 pm $30/week
Friday Open house: The regular open House will not e possible due to limits on indoor gathering.
A typical day starts with campers arriving between 8:30-9:30 am, during which time, there is supervised play.. The scheduled arts activities begin at 9:30, typically two activities before lunch and two activities after lunch. Lunch is supervised in the and followed by supervised outdoor play. Because we go outside, please ensure your child has adequate clothing for a variety of weather situations. Scheduled arts activities wrap up at 3:30, and campers can be picked up between 3:30-4:30 pm. Those children who are signed up for additional post-camp care can be picked up before 5:30 pm.
