Ben Harvey grew up in Guelph and is currently based in Montreal. He is a 2022 graduate of l’École de danse contemporaine de Montréal, and a graduate of the Guelph Youth Dance Training Program. In his training he has worked with choreographers including Louise Bédard, Xián Martínez and Alexandre Morin, and teachers including Sarah Bild, Andrew Harwood, and Linda Rabin. He is currently working professionally in Portal Dance’s The Returned. Ben approaches dance with a spirit of curiosity, openness and intellect and looks forward to continuing to grow as an emerging artist.
Workshop: Improvisation
In this workshop we will explore different improvisation and composition techniques both individually and in groups. The class will serve as a research period to explore where we can go with different prompts and how we can break our habitual patterns of movement and improvisation. It will be a no-stress, judgement-free class where all ideas are good ideas!
