Swadhi Ranganee is an emerging artist who practices Sinhalese traditional and folk dance, which she has been learning for over 20 years. Through her work, she tries to create modern expressions for these forms, while maintaining their aesthetic markers. With experience in jazz and Latin dancing, she frequently trains across styles, most recently delving into contemporary dance. She has performed in numerous festivals and programmes, including Nightshift and Nuit Blanche TO. In her spare time, she researches and writes about Sinhalese performance arts, as she is passionate about bringing these traditions to wider recognition.
