Kween (2021)

Kween is a dance teacher, business owner, cannabis educator and activist. Kween grew up in Guelph attending the University of Guelph. She then migrated to Toronto graduating as Valedictorian from the Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts. She now owns two businesses: The Heels Academy and The Kween Company. Kween also teaches Soca/Dancehall and Afro at the University of Guelph and is the team coordinator and choreographer for The Guelph Nighthawks Flight Crew.

Within the BIPOC community, Kween advocates for the rights of African and Caribbean people as Executive Director for Guelph Black Heritage Society. She is also very dedicated to Carnival, helping promote through Caribana and gives her time back to the high schools during Black History Month. In addition, she works actively with AHLOT in the cannabis space working on changing representation for the BIPOC communities.

Kween is beyond honoured for the opportunity to show representation and create safe spaces through art and movement in the BIPOC communities.
