Aura Carcueva

  • Guelph/traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation of the Anishinaabek Peoples

Aura Carcueva (she/her) is thrilled to be a part of Short & Sweet Guelph Virtual Edition this year!  She is most often involved in interdisciplinary collaborative work as she has a BFA in theatre  and dance from Simon Fraser University. Her main outlet is acting but she wears many hats  in creative collective environments, from dancer, choreographer, director, and writer. She  has performed on various stages across the GTA and has toured across North America and  Europe with various theatre companies. She was last seen on stage performing In the  Shadow of Elephants produced by Carlos Bulosan Theatre. Since then, Aura has shifted  gears and took a bit of a hiatus performing on stage and focused on film/tv/commercials after her daughter was born. Selected theatre credits include People Power (Co-produced  with CBT and Teesri Duniya Theatre), Future Folk (Sulong Theatre Collective), The  Making of St. Jerome (Next Stage Festival). Selected film/television credits include 12  Monkeys (SYFY), The Book Club (BravoFact!), Workin’Moms (CBC), Private Eyes (Global), Suits (USA Network), Odd Squad (PBS/TVO) just to name a few. Outside of  the entertainment world, Aura is busy as a house manager for her little family, and teaching people how to build strength, create length, and breathe in her yoga class ☺ Aura thanks Guelph Dance for this wonderful opportunity!
