Working primarily in drawing and painting mediums, Alexa explores her experience of living in a body, reconciling with chronic anxiety. Her work covers topics from sense of self, to mental health, body image and the physical and mental experience of emotions. Soaking up the world around her like a sponge, her work presents the body as a subject, bringing the internal world to the outside, making the invisible visible.
Alexa is also the co-founder of Outlet Collective. Maeve and Alexa co-founded Outlet Collective in the summer of 2020. This collective is dedicated to mindful art-making and the possibilities of art as therapy. Together, they facilitate spaces that encourage creativity through the exploration of various artistic practices, serving as a non-verbal outlet for individuals and creating a sense of community.
