About the Work
It Falls with the Rain is a contemporary dance work, born from a mother’s anxiety over the silent spread of micro and macro-plastics infiltrating our rivers, oceans, and even our own bodies. Inspired by my children’s connection to the local Willow/Grand River and their innocent questions: Why would anyone throw garbage in the river? Is the river sick now? Their innocent curiosity became the emotional heart of the work, prompting a deeper reflection on our delicate relationship with water vs our perplexing relationship with plastic. We are thrilled to have students from Guelph Youth Dance participating in part of this iteration for the Guelph Dance Festival.
