Earth Choir Community Project

You are invited to be part of the intergenerational Earth Choir which will be performing at the 25th Anniversary Guelph Dance festival. The Earth Choir made up of up to 30 community members will be the leaders of Audience for the “In the Park Series”.

We will be performing simple songs for singing and drumming, in the theme of celebration of the earth and the elements. It will be a beautiful celebration of music, dance and community and a wonderful way to mark the 25 years of Guelph dance.

The project will be facilitated by:

Shannon Kinsgury

Shannon is a singer, songwriter, harpist and music educator based in Guelph. Her musical works include two solo albums, co-curating site specific performances for Spring Awakes! (Ignatius Old Growth Forest), and composing/directing for Ondine Chorus. Shannon delights in mentoring children, youth and adults through her teaching studio, Kingsbury Music and has been an instructor with Guelph Dance’s Arts Explosion Camps for the past decade.

Maya Larose

Maya is well known as a drum maker and community weaver through the variety of services she provides to her local community.  You can find her in drumming circles, drum workshops or doing one-on-one mentorship.

Who is this project for?

Anyone from the Guelph and surrounding area (ages 8 and up) with a desire to move their body, vocalize, connect with others, and be part of a communal artistic experience.
