ABOUT THE WORK
The world is changing at an accelerated rate, and conflict and unrest follow. How do we move through difficult times with kindness and skill? These are questions we investigate through dance and the joy of singing in 3-part harmony.

ABOUT FUJIWARA DANCE INVENTIONS
Fujiwara Dance Inventions is a repertory dance company devoted to the creation, production and touring of dance works. It conducts activities for the professional development of dance artists, engages with the larger dance community, and promotes an appreciation for the art of dance to the general public.
Fujiwara Dance Inventions works to create dance, dance performances and learning opportunities that cultivate curiosity, creativity, openness, and presence in both participants and audiences, to gently blur the lines between performer and audience, to create aware and engaged audience members.
ABOUT GUELPH CHAMBER CHOIR
Guelph Chamber Choir is an award-winning, auditioned, and mixed-voice choir that seeks to create choral experiences of the highest calibre. It is comprised of 35 to 40 singers from the Guelph area, representing a range of backgrounds and age demographics. GCC began in 1980 and will be celebrating its 45th year in the 2024/2025 season under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Charlene Pauls. GCC’s mission continues to be “To foster community enjoyment and appreciation of choral music by a highly skilled choir, through performances, outreach, artistic collaboration, community partnerships, and opportunities for emerging artists”.
ABOUT THE CHOREOGRAPHER
Denise Fujiwara is based in Tkaronto where she choreographs, dances and teaches. Her short film Noppera-bo, won a 2020 One-Reeler Short Film Competition Award of Excellence in Los Angeles. EUNOIA, a multimedia work based on Christian Bök’s prize winning book, was nominated for three Dora Mavor Moore Awards, one of NOW’s Top 5 Dance Shows of 2014 and began national touring in 2015. Her six solo dance concerts garnered praise across Canada and toured to festivals in the United States, South America, Europe and Asia. She is a recipient of the Toronto Arts Foundation’s Muriel Sherrin Award for international achievement in dance. www.fujiwaradance.com
ABOUT THE CHOIR CONDUCTOR
Dr. Charlene Pauls has been an active choral conductor, vocal soloist, adjudicator, and pedagogue for over 25 years. Using this extensive experience, Charlene’s approach focuses on a beautiful choral sound through a deep understanding of healthy vocal technique. Charlene has directed a wide range of adult, university, and youth choirs, including the Raise Her Voice Chamber, an ambassadorial ensemble selected from the Oakville Choir for Children and Youth, leading them in award-winning performances internationally. In addition to active performing and teaching, Charlene frequently presents at academic conferences and is in demand as an adjudicator for Voice and Choral festivals country-wide.
